Here’s to a GREAT school year!

Noah’s News August 2017

We welcome your family to ours!

Here is an “introduction” to our two buildings, and to all of our staff:

Calvin Hall is the “home” to our new Spanish classroom, which is taught by Ms. Jessica! When not in use as a classroom, this room may also be used as either an “enrichment” room for when we have special visitors from the community, or as a library…so “check it out” when you get the chance to! We are also happy to have 2 of our VPK classes in this building…Ms. Carroll’s Owls, and Ms. Leslie’s Ladybugs! Ms. Susan will be the aide in Calvin Hall from 8am-12pm daily. (She is also our “on call” substitute, and has taught all ages at our school!)

Knox Hall, our “main” building is “home” to both our younger classes and VPK!

Our VPK teachers/classes are: Ms. Kellie’s Dragonflies, Ms. Sandi’s Soaring Eagles (both A.M. and P.M. classes!), Ms. Belkis’ Bears (our very first Spanish VPK!), and Ms. Lori’s Octopus class. Our younger teachers/classes are: Ms. Paula’s Frogs, Ms. Kelly’s Fish, Ms. Erica’s Leopards, and Ms. Jenn’s Monkeys!  We are happy to have Ms. Sam, Ms. Angie, Ms. Alexis, Ms. Bella and Ms. Liz (when she is home from college in Miami) as our A.M. to P.M. Aides!

Upcoming News & Friendly Reminders

* ChapelChapel will begin weekly on Wednesdays, beginning September 6th.

* School Closures:  We will be closed on Monday September 4th for Labor Day, and on Friday September 15rd for Professional Day so that our teachers may attend a conference in Orlando.

Please bring a small bag (the Publix fabric bags are a good size) to store your child’s nap items in, as this prevents beloved nap items from getting lost and keeps everything hygienic. (Please label everything!) 1” (blue and red) nap mats are required for full day children, and are currently available in the “school” section at our North Port Walmart!

Parents please be aware that Tuition is due every Monday for that week. Any payments not made by 9 a.m. Wednesday will incur a $20.00 late fee. When billing is processed 9:00 a.m. Thursday, any unpaid balances will result in loss of enrollment for the following week, unless payment for the current week (including late fees) are paid for within the remainder of that week.

Please watch the clock!  Morning VPK begins at 8:30 a.m., and is dismissed at 11:30 a.m. Afternoon VPK begins at 12:30 p.m. and is dismissed at 3:30 p.m. It is important to drop off / pick up your child at these times as we have to follow the state guidelines.

Our younger classes for half-day children runs from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. All full day children may be dropped off as early as 7 a.m. and picked up as late as 6 p.m.

If you have not already done so, please be sure to supply your child’s teacher with a complete change of clothes.  We like messy projects here, and accidents sometimes happen too. To assure the comfort of your child, we ask that you label everything with your child’s name and store them in a plastic Ziploc bag, to be kept in their cubby.        If your child is in need of diapers/pull-ups/wipes, please replenish as needed!

Please read our Handbook for more information.

Please do not have your child bring in toys from home!

If you have a child participating in VPK: be alert that your child needs to be present 80% of the school hours to be covered by the state’s program.  Absence limits equates to roughly 30 days. Therefore: plenty of sleep and plenty of healthy snacks and lunches!

Help our teachers make projects fun!  Please consider donating any of these items to your classrooms, if you are able to: tissues * cotton balls * buttons * stickers * old puzzle pieces * crunchy whole leaves   * watercolor paints * large sequins * play dough * clean baby food jars (We can get pretty creative and one person’s junk is another child’s treasure!!!)

Please remember to:

Shut your vehicle off & not leave it running in the parking lot, or leave children ages 6 and under in them unattended. Either or both could incur a ticket and fines. We just want the safety for ALL involved!

Sign your child in and out daily…times and full signatures.

If your door code is not working, try it with the * at the end. (#nohashtags!)
