Noah’s Ark Preschool

“An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified.  But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.  Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”

                      Luke 2:9-12

Noah’s News

The month of December is full of celebrations and JOY!  Here is a short list of family activities to join in and enjoy with us!

Tues. December 6: Parent Meeting for our Parade Float

We will hold a short meeting at 6pm to discuss the theme of our float and make preparations to build it! The theme of this year’s parade is “Storybook Holiday”, so we will be bringing to life the story of “’Twas the Night Before Christmas”! Please bring your best ideas with you to the meeting…we can’t wait to hear them all!

Fri. December 9: Putting the finishing touches on our Parade Float!

If anyone is available to lend a helping hand to put the “finishing touches” on our float, we will be working on it at the end of the school day on this day. If we cannot get everything completed that evening, we will be able to finish up the following morning, well before the parade begins.

Sat. December 10: The City of North Port’s Poinsettia Parade!

If you would like to join us in our march, please see the sign-up sheet in your child's classroom. Please consider joining us as it is a lot of fun, and a great way to enter the city’s Winter festival! We will be focusing on the parade this year as our “Christmas Program”, in hopes that each student and their families will all attend!

Thurs. December 15: VPK Field Trip

On Thursday Dec. 15th the VPK classes and their teachers will enjoy a walking field trip to the Gardens of North Port Retirement Center to sing Christmas Carols to the residents! Each child has made homemade Christmas ornaments to hand out to each of the residents for this visit, in the hopes of bringing Christmas spirit to each and every one of them! Permission slips will be handed out as of the first of the month; please return your child’s permission slip to their teacher no later than Thursday Dec. 8th.

Fri. December 23rd & Mon. Dec. 26th:

Our preschool is closed to observe Christmas. We wish all of our families a Blessed Christmas!

Fri. December 30th: Pajama Party Day!

Wear your pajamas to school that day! (For the students who are scheduled to attend that day!)

Mon. January 2nd, 2016:

Closed to observe New Year’s Day!

Winter Break and School Closures

VPK does not meet from Mon. December 19th,2016 -Mon. January 2nd ,2017. If your child attends wrap-around days and still needs care during this time, Noah’s Ark will be open, with the exception of 12/23/16, 12/26/16 & 1/2/17.  Children who participate in the VPK wrap-around program can still attend their “wrap-around days” and pay the standard tuition for needed care. See Lauren or your Parent Handbook for rates. If you choose to keep your VPK wrap-around student home during either or both weeks then you will be billed at the discounted rate you would normally pay, as a courtesy. (Thank you for filling out our survey; billing for those 2 weeks will be reflected as per your answers of your child attending or staying home per each week.)

Young preschool (Turtles, Penguins, Leopards & Seahorses) will meet as usual during those 2 weeks, with the exception of those 3 holiday days. (There will be no billing changes for the younger classes.)

All VPK and regular class schedules will resume on Tuesday January 3, 2017.

Please see Ms. Lauren if you have any questions!
