August 2019 Newsletter

Noah’s Ark Newsletter August 2019

We welcome your family to ours!

Here is an “introduction” to our two buildings, and to all our staff:

Knox Hall is “home” to our Spanish classroom, which is taught by Ms. Alondra! When not in use as a classroom, this room may also be used as either an “enrichment” room for when we have special visitors from the community, our library, and a computer lab for our VPK students…so “check it out” when you get the chance to! We are also happy to have two of our VPK classes in this building…Ms. Sandy’s Fish and Ms. Belkis Bears, which is our Spanish/English VPK class! Ms. Sam and Ms. Paula will both be on hand to help as our morning aides. Let’s not forget about our youngest friends! Our five youngest classes are Ms. Zhanna’s Owls, Ms. Amanda’s Octopus’, Ms. Kelsey’s Bees, Ms. Katelyn’s Tigers and Ms. Jessica’s Turtles!

Calvin Hall is “home” to three more VPK classes! Ms. Leslie’s Ladybugs (assisted by Ms. Angela), Ms. Susan’s Dolphins and Ms. Jenn’s Monkeys!

Our staff would not be complete without Ms. Alexis, Ms. Meagan, Ms. Bresaida and Ms. Alexia also being with the children in the afternoons! Ms. Lori will be assisting Ms. Lauren in the office.

Upcoming News & Friendly Reminders

* Chapel: Chapel is held weekly on Wednesdays, beginning September 4th.

* School Closures: We will be closed on Monday September 2nd for Labor Day.

Please bring a small bag (the Publix fabric bags are a good size) to store your child’s nap items in, as this prevents beloved nap items from getting lost and keeps everything hygienic. (Please label everything!) 1” (blue and red Kindermat) nap mats are required for full day children and are usually in the “school” section at any Walmart or Target! (They may also be ordered from Amazon.)

Parents please be aware that Tuition is due every Monday for that week. Any payments not made by 9 a.m. Thursday will incur a $20.00 late fee. Unpaid balances for the current week will result in loss of enrollment for the following week, unless payment for the current week (including late fees) are paid for within the remainder of that week. All balances must be kept current.

VPK

If you have a child participating in VPK: please be aware that your child needs to be present 80% of the school hours to be covered by the state’s program. Absence limits equates to roughly 30 days.

Please watch the clock! VPK begins at 8:30 a.m., and is dismissed at 11:30 a.m. It is important to drop off / pick up your VPK-only child at these times as we must follow the state guidelines.

All Students

Our younger classes for half-day children runs from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. All full day/ “wrap around care” children may be dropped off as early as 7 a.m. and picked up as late as 6 p.m. If dropping your child off at opening, please note that you may send breakfast in with them up until 7:30 a.m.

If you have not already done so, please be sure to supply your child’s teacher with a complete change of clothes. We like messy projects here, and accidents sometimes happen too. Please be sure to label everything with your child’s name and store them in a plastic Ziploc bag, to be kept in their cubby. If your child needs diapers/pull-ups/wipes, please replenish as needed!

Please read our Handbook for more information.

Please do not have your child bring in toys from home!

Please remember to:

Shut your vehicle off & not leave it running in the parking lot or leave children ages 6 and under in them unattended. Either or both could incur a ticket and fines. We just want the safety for ALL involved!

Sign your child in and out daily…times and full signatures are required. Please remember to check your child’s file daily for newsletters / notes / tuition bills.

If your door code is not working, try it with the * at the end. (#nohashtags!)

As per DCF, if your child will be out for the day you will need to call us to let us know that morning. If your child is out and we have not heard from you, we are mandated to call you. If you know ahead of time that your child will be out for the day, you may write a note to let your child’s teacher know. If your child is enrolled in the School Readiness program, please be aware that a note is required for each absence.
